Managing Post Holiday Stress

We’re all grown up enough now to admit that the holidays aren’t always the super happy celebrations that we are promised in movies and adverts. We all have things around the festive period which can stress us out and leave us feeling a little run down. This may be financial burdens and present buying, burn out from consistent entertaining and socialising, or trying to manage all of this around work pressures and deadlines. If you’re feeling a little bit less than 100 per cent after the past few weeks, here are our top tips to get you back to the best version of yourself.

Pinpoint what is stressing you out

Sometimes there is nothing more stressful than not knowing what or why something is affecting you. Take some time out to reflect on why you might be feeling down or stressed out. Sometimes this may be due to factors around the holidays, but sometimes it might be something in our personal life which has chosen to take this moment to manifest. Thing about whether you’re using Christmas as a scapegoat to moan about something else and try not to be consumed by your negativity.

Rest well

Whether you’ve been rushing around buying presents, cooking the all important dinner, or had too many late nights with a bit too much wine - there comes a point when your body just wants to rest and recover. Using CBD oil can reportedly improve your sleep quality, lowering stress and leaving you feeling new the next day.

Go outside

Depending on where you are, it can be unpleasantly cold around this time of year and all you want to do is stay cosy inside. But while this seems like a good idea in theory, staying cooped up will leave you feeling agitated, restless, and stressed. Getting outside and getting some fresh air, even if it’s just for a short period of time, will refresh you, clear your mind, and help you sleep better at night.

Self- care

We hold a lot of our stress and tension in our bodies, sometimes without even realising. Take a long bath, replenish your skin with CBD infused body butter, and relieve your tension with CBD massage oil.

Be thankful for what you have

Once you fall into a negative rut, it’s sometimes easy to forget all the positive elements. For example, you might be overwhelmed by your family, but take some time to be thankful that you have people to spend this time with them. Once the holidays are over, make a list of your top five memories from the break. This will give you a positive outlook.
